Episode 175, Apple celebrates Earth Day 2022 on Friday, April 22 with Fitness Activity Award and more



In this episode, we will discuss Apple’s celebration of Earth Day coming up this Friday, April 22.  For more info, see Apple’s environmental website.

Lisa Jackson, Apple’s Lisa Jackson Vice President, Environment, Policy & Social Initiatives, said, “Developing solutions to global challenges is never an easy journey, and it isn’t one that can be undertaken alone. In a year like no other, Apple has continued to work with a global network of colleagues, companies, and advocates to further our efforts to make our environmental work a force for good in people’s lives—and give the communities most impacted by climate change a seat.”
This challenge requires users to complete a workout of any category for at least 30 minutes. You’ll then unlock stickers that can be used in the Messages app, FaceTime, and more.
Through April 22, 2022, Apple will donate $1 for every purchase made using Apple Pay on apple.com, through the Apple Store app, or at an Apple Store. Donations are limited to a maximum of one million dollars The donation goes to World Wildlife Fund.

 


Episode 169, Apple announces spring event; Activity Challenge for International Women’s Day; and transforming Activity Awards into beautiful magnets



In this episode, we will talk about Apple’s upcoming Spring event; an AppleWatch Activity Challenge for International Women’s Day; and transforming digital Activity Awards, using an independent company, into beautiful magnetic pin mementos.

Apple announced Tuesday their ‘peek performance’ spring event is scheduled for Tuesday March 8 at 10 a.m. PST.
Apple is recognizing women and fitness with the Women’s Day Award above.  To win the International Women’s Day award, Apple Watch users will need to complete a workout of any kind with a length of at least 20 minutes.

Accompanying the award, winners will receive a series of animated stickers that can be used in the Messages and FaceTime apps.

Apple introduces the Black Unity Collection, designed to celebrate and acknowledge Black history and Black culture. The collection includes a limited-edition Apple Watch Series 6, the Black Unity Sport Band, and the Unity watch face.
The Black Unity Sport Band uses colors inspired by the Pan-African flag with the words “Truth. Power. Solidarity.” laser-engraved onto the closure
